The haughty but beautiful Princess Gwendolyn (Ashley Jones) is being escorted to the kingdom of her future husband by a squad of elite King's Guard when they are attacked by bandits attempting to seize the Princess's dowry: a large chest full of gold. They take refuge in a ruined farmhouse and are besieged by the cut-throats. Captain Reynolds, leader of the Guard and already smitten by Gwendolyn, launches an audacious attack on the bandits. His bravery impresses the Princess and she finds herself falling in love with him. But she knows she has an obligation to her 'political' marriage; to help her father, the king, rule the Kingdom.
