The lives of celebrities are often as steamy and dramatic off-screen as they are in front of the cameras.
The glossy new TV drama ''Manhattan'' seems destined to be overshadowed by the behind the scenes lives of its stars and crew. In fact, successful producer Max Wexler (Christopher Plummer), seems to be only person without a dark secret lurking in his past. But then, he has just embarked on a red-hot affair with the show's star Sabina (Stephanie Beacham).
While the couple keep the affair under wraps, other stars struggle to conceal their own ghosts. Former Queen of Soap, Jane Adams, is the victim of a violent husband but can she resist throwing herself into the arms of her co-star Zack Taylor? Sex-symbol Bill Warwick lands his first major role, but then his success is marred by a police investigation into the suspicious death of his vife.
