Western Front 1939-1941 DVD Synopsis After England and France had declared war on the German Empire a front line formed in the west. In May 1940 a German major offensive began against the Netherlands, Belgium and France. After separating the allied armies, they succeeded in encircling the British expeditionary force at Dunkirk. This was followed by the battle for France.
